Our Clubhouse
Located on a narrow residential street, formerly a mews for the Guilded Age Rittenhouse Square-area mansions, the Orpheus Club has owned its present Clubhouse since 1927. What was formerly a large carriage house is now a rehearsal space and event venue complete with a stage, lighting and sound systems, and a catering kitchen.
Getting To The Club
Van Pelt Street is a one-way thoroughfare running from north to south. It is accessible via Locust Street by making a left turn just after crossing over 22nd Street. If you are driving to the clubhouse and are capable of walking a short distance, we ask that you drop off your passengers either at the Locust Street or Spruce Street corner to avoid unnecessary traffic outside the clubhouse.
After 10:00pm, by agreement with our residential neighbors, the Club has a policy to prohibit vehicular traffic on Van Pelt Street except for pick up and discharge of elderly and handicapped patrons. We also ask all members and patrons to be respectful of our neighbors and our unique residential setting by entering and exiting the Clubhouse quietly after 10:00pm.
